The Wild Bunch by Stephen Willey
8 months ago, I started on a small challenge. To do two pieces a month of art that was based around the season. Well that soon turned into my AP Art series, which I focused around the progression of time through a year, separating it into seasons. Every person pictured is a friend of mine, all 30+ of them. These are the people I’ve spent high school with, and I wanted to dedicate this to them. Also, if you’re a fan of Fireworks, you noticed the lyrics to The Wild Bunch, which are situated throughout the series. I thought the song greatly described my friends and myself, and figured I’d incorporate it into the series. It really fueled the creation of it, and helped hold together the full idea. Also, there’s a few small details, such as the Chinese symbol for each season in it. I tried to keep small things like that in mind, so everytime you take a look at it, you find something new. Again, I’d like to thank all of my friends for helping me with this series. Especially to the AP Art crew (Erin, Lloyd, Rosa, Robbie, and Maddie) for helping me brainstorm this work into creation. I’d like to thank my art teacher Nancy Quinn for helping me every step of the way. I’d also like to give a big thanks to Fireworks, who’s song The Wild Bunch really inspired this series into creation.
